Sekilas tentang AMD Quad-Core A8-5550M
AMD A8-5550M adalah processor quad-core berbasis arsitektur Richland. Dari sisi kinerja CPU dan GPU integrated-nya (APU), dia bisa ditempatkan pada kelas processor menengah bawah. Meski begitu, APU yang diintegrasikan dengan ke empat core-nya mampu mendukung DirectX 11 (dan mungkin 12) untuk kinerja keseluruhan dan grafis yang lumayan.
Jika dibandingkan dengan AMD A10-5750M yang di pakai sang kakak – Asus X550DP-XX096D Laptop Gaming Mumpuni Yang Murah, kira-kira kinerjanya 15% dibawahnya, jadi kalau dicarikan padanannya dari Intel, kita akan ketemu dengan Intel Core i3-2310M. Itu sebabnya AMD A8-550M ini cukup gegas untuk menjalankan aplikasi terkini dan juga memainkan game menengah dengan lancar.
Dengan kebutuhan tenaga sekitar 15 watt, maka dia pas untuk laptop berlayar 14 inchi ke atas.
Tentang AMD Radeon HD 8550
Sebagai GPU, AMD Radeon HD 8550G juga hanya kelas menengah. Dengan menawarkan 256 VLIW4 shader core. Bandingkan dengan 8650G pada XX096D yang punya 384 shader cores. 8550G ini juga tidak punya dedicated graphics memory, jadi berbagi dengan memory CPU.
